our health in our hands![]() partnerships introduction one-stop-shop commonwealth government state government division of general practice < sa aboriginal health partnership division of general practice Pangula Mannamurna is seeking to build upon its relationship with the Limestone Coast Division of General Practice and has already engaged in discussions with Mr Ralph Kogler, CEO. The Limestone Coast Division of General Practice is a non government, not for profit body, which was incorporated in 1994. The Division promotes the role of the general practitioner in the delivery of preventative and chronic health care, as well as working with allied health services work towards the needs of the community. To view its website, click on the link below: Although Pangula already has its own GP clinic, it is recognised that the service can't be made available to all Indigenous people throughout the South East Region. Moreover, improving access to local GPs is preferable. The Australian Institute of Health & Welfare estimates that in 1998-99, the health expenditure on Indigenous people nationally was only 41% of that for non-Indigenous people. Pangula Mannamurna seeks to assist in improving access to local GPs by ensuring that barriers, such as a reluctance to bulk-bill, are reduced.
