introduction

An increasing focus of Pangula Mannamurna will be on population health. Population health programs have an emphasis on health promotion and prevention of disease and ill health and are delivered in many settings both across and outside the health care system. National approaches and community partnerships are central to the success of such programs.

With the establishment of the one-stop-shop, Pangula Mannamurna will be co-located with the Health Promotion Team of the South East Regional Community Health Service Inc. This should enhance the opportunity to deliver effective population health programs.

Pangula Mannamurna's current priorities are in relation to:

  • chronic disease
  • child & maternal health
  • immunisation
  • quit smoking
  • drug & alcohol awareness

These priotities are consistent with those of the South Australian Aboriginal Health Partnership's priorities.
