sewb counsellor

The Counsellor works as part of a multi-disciplinary primary health care team and will provide clinical and assertive outreach counselling services to improve the overall health and wellbeing status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the South East region.

The Counsellor provides quality counselling and case management services as required and assists in the development, implementation and supervision (if necessary) of social, emotional and physical wellbeing education and promotion to clients.

The Counsellor actively promotes and provides consultancy, referral and linkage to the Bringing Them Home Counselling Service. The Counsellor works in conjunction with other Community Support and Health Teams located at Pangula Mannamurna. They also provide a leadership role in working with regional government and non-government organisations/agencies to respond to the need of the client group and advocacy to ensure that clients receive coordinated service responses in accordance to their need as it relates to the Bringing Them Home Counselling Service.
